Conceptually Curious. Nerd. Traveler. Human. Information Junkie. Thought Leader. Inspirational Engineer. Branding Geek Turned Artist. Reggie Black is using “life” as the curator of his work. Born and raised in Washington, DC currently living in Bangkok, he is on a quest to implement his love for thought provoking art, lettering, abstract expressionism, and mark making to transform non-traditional spaces, create and curate artistic experiences through human interaction, community, and public art. He is also known for his daily work with his “Sticky Inspiration” project. Using the world as his art gallery, Reggie creates original quotes, leaving them in the various environments one day at a time, and also distributes this art form primarily through Instagram. Reggie also has a passion for nomadic travel and documentary photography.
Reggie recently completed the first installation of his traveling exhibition [Back] By "Are You Using Your Voice?" through Australia and New Zealand, a Pecha Kucha Presentation in Bangkok, Thailand and contributed to the Bangkok Theatre Festival 2015 as a costume designer. He was also recently commissioned by Gallery Drip Kaffeetographer in Bangkok to create a mural in their newly renovated location at the Bangkok Art and Culture Centre. Creating and curating his first international exhibition, “Are You Using Your Voice?” at INK & LION Cafe' by transforming a coffee shop into a multi-layered art experience, Reggie remains inspired to continue to spread his work across all cultures. “Are You Using Your Voice?” was a follow up to his first art installation that was successfully funded through Kickstarter, the “Remove the Fear Creative Experience.” This exhibition was executed by redesigning a three level traditional home into an art gallery featuring public art, live experiences, furniture designs, and documentary presentations.
His goal is to continue to create, explore new realms of artistic mediums, curate non-traditional artistic experiences worldwide, travel, capture documentary photography, and continue to spread his "Sticky Inspiration" platform around the world, inspiring others to pursue their dreams one person at a time.
